Description
This full length wall mirror is framed using the synthetic silk material recovered from decommissioned parachutes. Internally lined with LEDs, the colour of the piece is experienced in an ever changing way, depending on the ambient and internal light combination.
The incorporation of the material with this charged past life is evocative. The reflected person or room is framed with a proximity to thrill-seeking or last resort, with the work made with a material that literally allowed someone falling through the skies to return to earth unscathed, arresting their fall from the heavens.
This work is available in different colour combinations, or alternatively as a portrait mirror version. Product images show examples of both illuminated and dormant states (these photos © Dylan James).
